This is a truly remarkable piece of history. 1967 Fender Jazz bass, Lake Placid Blue finish with a matching headstock. Ex Paul Turner from Jamiroquai. Lake Placid Blue is one of Fender's most endearing custom colours, it is quintessentially '60's. The fretboard is made from Indian Rosewood which does not require a CITES certificate for sale/shipment within the EU. Only Brazilian Rosewood requires an import/export certificate. A CITES certificate for shipment outside the EU is needed and can be supplied for 100 extra.

This bass is all original, including the case. The finish is remarkably clean, with minimal reaction to UV. Take a look at the pictures with the guard off, there is only a little difference between the unexposed area (under guard) and the exposed body finish. There are only the tiniest of marks to the body. The finish has light checking throughout. The neck pocket shows the first coat of yellow sealer underneath where the paint stick would have been screwed on to paint the body. All screw holes are free of paint.

It plays very well & sounds superb with a straight neck and smooth action. The frets are in great condition. The neck is stamped DEC 66 A. The pots all date to 1966, the pickups have original winds, the bridge pickup has the pencil date 1-10-67 (10th Jan) I can't quite make out the date in the neck pickup but I think it reads 12-30-66 (30th Dec) and the pots harness is wired up with the correct cloth wires. Fully set up by with a fresh set of strings. Serial number:175991. Weight: 9lbs 56oz. Nut width: 37.5mm.
