1966 Fender Jazz bass, Sunburst finish, Tortoise shell guard, Rosewood fretboard. Other than some touched up solder this bass is all original including the original case. The Sunburst finish is in great condition. This is a very rare transition period, dot & bound Rosewood neck Jazz Bass. Original Sunburst finish marked ES under the pick guard. ("Entered special" at the factory) Custom colour orders were often marked with this ES stamp but so too were some Sunbursts. Many of these basses marked ES will have likely been displayed at trade shows. This bass is a great player with a superb even sound right across the fretboard.

There's light play wear to the finish on the back of the neck which has smoothed down the lacquer allowing for very comfortable movement up and down. All hardware and electronics are in good working order. The frets are in great shape with very little wear. The neck is stamped June 66 A. The pots all date to the 31st week of1966, the pickups have original winds and are dated 66. Fully set up by my technician with a great action.
