1997 Rickenbacker 4001 V63 with a Mapleglo finish in excellent condition. Original Silver case included. All the cases latches had broken so I added new ones.
Rickenbacker excelled with their vintage reissue series. These 4001 V63 Basses are some of the best they ever made. The production of these basses began in the '80s and the V63 is the forerunner to the C64. It was based on the 4001S basses used by McCartney and Chris Squire etc and feature no binding, dot inlays, a toaster pickup at the neck and a horseshoe at the bridge. They are excellent, well-made instruments at a fraction of the cost of the vintage originals.
This Bass, as already mentioned, is in excellent condition with only a few small dings/scuffs to the finish mainly around the edges of the body and headstock. I have documented these in the detailed pictures. The frets are in great shape with minimal play wear. All hardware and electronics are in fine working order. The truss rods are fully functioning and the neck is straight with fantastic action having been set up in our workshop. It is strung with a fresh set of Rotosound nickel round-wound strings. Serial V0 5156. Weight 9lbs 7.5oz. Nut width 43.75mm. Depth at 1st fret 22.75.
