1969 Fender jazz bass with a Sunburst finish with a Tortoise guard. It's in excellent + condition. It has a dark Rosewood fingerboard with pearl blocks & binding. Aside from the 2 white wires in the control harness, it's all original, including the case.
One of the cleanest vintage basses we've had in stock. The Sunburst finish remains vibrant. It's a great player with a superb tone. There are a few small patches of wear to the body, but nothing major. The neck and headstock are almost immaculate with only a couple of very tiny marks. All electronics and hardware are in good working order. The neck is straight, and the truss rod works correctly. The frets are in excellent condition showing very little signs of wear.
This bass is a joy to play with a superb, even sound right across the fretboard. It's been fully set up with a fresh set of nickel Rotosound roundwound strings and sounds amazing. Weight 9 lbs 15 oz / 4.05 kg. Serial: 227279. The Serial indicates 68 but as the neck is stamped 69 this must have left the factory in 69. The pots all date to the 42nd week of '66. The neck is stamped MAR '69 A. Nut Width: 37.5 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 21.2 mm.
