1966 Fender Jazz bass, Candy Apple Red finish with a matching headstock. This is a custom colour and a transition period, dot & bound Rosewood fingerboard Jazz Bass. With the exception of a rewound back pickup (Lindy Fralin) this bass is all original, including the case. Serial number: 143701. Weight: 9 lbs 5oz.
The finish has a few small chips/dings and checking but overall it's in very good condition. The binding on the neck is all intact and the frets are in great condition with very little wear. It plays very well & sounds superb with a straight neck, which is very comfortable in the hand.
The neck is stamped Apr 66 A. The pots all date to the 12th week of 1966, the pickups are dated 21st June (neck) and 27th July (bridge) 1966. Nut width: 38mm. Fully set up with a very smooth low action and a fresh set of Rotosound Nickel strings.
