1959 Gretsch 6125, Single Anniversary, 2-Tone Smoke Green in very good condition with original Gretsch hard case, all original other than the Bigsby. It has the original Filtron pickup with 'pat applied for' stamped onto it. It has an ebony fingerboard, unlike the later models that had a rosewood one. It has a master volume contol on the lower bout and on the upper bout it has the "mud" switch. This switch effectively gives you 3 tone variations. In the central positions the tone is bright, the other two positions give you different degrees of tone cut.
All the electronics and hardware are in good working order. The finish is very clean on the body with only a few small scuffs and some lacquer checking. The headstock has a few small dings around the edges but nothing major. The back of the neck has a small patch of play wear through the finish. The binding is still intact and shows virtually no deterioration. The pickguard is also very clean and the frets have only minimal signs of wear with plenty of life left in them. ( its strung with flat wound strings currently and may well have had this type of string on for most, if not all of its life)
This is a great playing and sounding guitar, it has a great action and plays smoothly. Fully set up in our workshop. Serial number:30343. Weight: 7 lbs 5 oz. Nut width: 42.5 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 20.3 mm. 3-month warranty included.
