1981 G&L G-200, natural finish in good condition, serial G009263. This is one of the rarest of regular production G&L guitars..only 209 were ever built during the years 1981-82.
There are a number of small dings and scuffs in the body finish, mainly around the edges of the body. The neck and headstock are relatively clean with just a couple of small scuffs on the tip of the headstock. It was previously fitted with a Bigsby leaving holes in the body which have since been filled.
Designed by George Fullerton, this is the only G&L guitar to feature a 24-3/4" scale neck (as on most of Gibson's guitars). Features include two MFD humbuckers, a Saddle-Lock fixed bridge, a unique wiring/switching design by Leo Fender, an Ebony fingerboard and a mahogany body. The coil splitting switch selects single coil, single coil with low-end boost, and humbucker. Add the separate tone/volume controls for each pickup and the tonal possibilities seem endless.
Fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of D'Addario 10s. Nice low action with a straight neck. Weight 8lbs 2.5oz / 3.7 kg. Nut width 42.6 mm. Depth at 1st fret 19.4 mm. The pots are a mixture of dates ranging from late 1980 to '81.
