1965 Fender Jaguar, Candy Apple Red

  • Regular price £7,995.00

1965 Fender Jaguar, Candy Apple Red custom colour finish with matching headstock in very good condition, serial number: L82949.  All original and complete including the case. 3-month warranty and 14-day returns policy included.

The body finish has small scuffs & dings around the edges, a light patch of buckle rash on the back and lacquer checking throughout. The neck is relatively free from wear. The headstock also displays some light lacquer checking and a few scuffs and dings around the edge. The original frets are in great condition with plenty of life left in them. The truss rod is fully functional with no issues. All electronics and hardware are working correctly and all solder is undisturbed.

This guitar has been set up in our workshop with a fresh set of D'Addario 10 gauge strings and a low action. The neck is stamped May 65 B.  Both pots date to the 19th week of 65. Weight 8lbs 3oz / 3.71 kg. Nut width: 41.3 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 21 mm. Pickup DC resistance: N 6.1k / B 5.75k.

The Jaguar was launched in 1962 as another top-of-the-line guitar in the same vein as the Jazzmaster. Both guitars shared the modern offset body shape and distinct floating tremolo system. The Jaguar differed in its use of a shorter 24-inch scale length and stronger single-coil pickups, which were encased in notched covers to shield the electronics from external radio noise (a typical annoyance with the Jazzmaster's soapbars). Both guitars integrated a unique dual rhythm/lead circuit design, yet on the Jaguar the lead circuit includes three switches: on-off for the front pickup, on-off for the back pickup, and a bass-cut switch that adds an extra capacitor to the signal.
