Early 1964 Fender Stratocaster. Original Sunburst finish in excellent condition. Great player with a straight neck. All original including the no-logo case. Untouched electronics with undisturbed solder. This is a superb original example of an early '64 Stratocaster, with only light wear, all original, unmodified, and appearing relatively little used. It retains the spaghetti logo and clay dots which soon transition to pearl dots and a larger/bolder logo.
There are some minor dings, scuffs and dents to the body finish, most visibly in the centre of the upper bout and around the edges. There is no heavy belt buckle wear but there are some, all too common, marks left from a curly cord. The finish on the back of the neck has virtually no wear at all. All the hardware is original. The beautiful greenish nitro pickguard has only very minor shrinkage, with no cracks. The backplate is also intact and uncracked. The tuners and bridge have minor corrosion, and the screws and springs are relatively clean.
Fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of Ernie Ball Regular Slinky strings. Serial number: L20738. Weight: 7 lbs 14 oz / 3.57 kg. Nut width: 42.4 mm / at the 12th: 51.6 mm. Depth at the 1st fret: 21.3 mm / at the 12th: 25 mm. Pickup DC resistance: N: 5.75k M: 5.82k B: 6.11k.
