1959 Fender Jazzmaster, serial: 42957.  Sunburst finish in excellent condition. It has a beautiful tortoiseshell pickguard and a slab rosewood fingerboard with clay dots. It's an amazing guitar to play and it sounds fantastic. All original and complete including the brown tolex case and instruction manual. It comes with 3-months warranty and a 14-day returns policy.

The body finish has only a few very small nicks and dings and there's a tiny area of buckle rash on the back. The back of the neck is clean and almost entirely free of wear. The top edge of the headstock has some very light scuffs but overall it's very clean. Everything remains structurally sound with no breaks or repairs. The pickguard is in great condition and fully intact, although it does display some slight warping, around the neck pickup area. The frets are in good condition having been cleaned and dressed in our workshop. All hardware and electronics are in good working order including the truss rod which works correctly.

The Jazzmaster was Launched in 1958 as the top-of-the-range Fender guitar and featured Fender’s first neck with a rosewood fretboard. It also featured an anodized aluminium pickguard and was supplied in a tweed case. By mid-1959 the case had a Brown Tolex exterior with a burnt orange interior and the anodized aluminium pickguard was replaced by a three-layer tortoiseshell example. This is a fantastic example of the model. A great time capsule from a golden period of Fender production.

This guitar has been set up in our workshop with a fresh set of D'Addario 10s and a medium-low action. The body has a pencil date of  10/59. The neck has no pencil date which is consistent with the period. The tone pot dates to the 37th week of '59, and the volume pot, to the 26th week of '59. Both pickups are original with black bobbins and original windings. Weight 7 lbs 15 oz /  3.59 kg. Nut width: 42. mm. Depth at 1st fret: 19.5 mm. Pickup DC resistance: Neck 8.38 k / Bridge 7.46 k.

Condition Excellent  9/10
