Late 1959 / early 1960 Fender Esquire, serial: 37394. Blonde finish in very good condition. It's been refretted at some point and has overspray on the back of the neck. A previous owner had wired it up as a telecaster in the past, it is now back to stock wiring. Otherwise original and complete and supplied in a period correct case. Also included are a leather strap, a Fender string box ( with strings) and a hang tag.
There is light lacquer checking throughout the finish and a few small scuffs and dings. There's also some arm wear on the edge of the upper bout and light buckle rash on the back. The neck is in fantastic condition with just some very minor playwear. The headstock is also very clean with just a few very small dings around the edges. Everything remains structurally sound with no breaks or repairs. The frets are in great condition having been dressed in our workshop and still have plenty of life left in them. All hardware and electronics are in good working order including the truss rod, which works correctly.
This guitar has been set up in our workshop with a fresh set of D'Addario 10s and medium-low action. The body is dated 4-59. The neck is not dated which is common in this period. The pots date to the 9th and 19th weeks of '59. The pickup has original winds and unbroken solder. Weight 7lbs 2oz / 3.23 kg. Nut width: 41.8mm. Depth at 1st fret: 20.2mm. Pickup DC resistance: 6.65k.
