1981 G&L L1000 bass in good condition. Serial B002390. Changed strap buttons and control knobs otherwise, all original bass, supplied in a new Fender gig bag. Black finish with a Maple neck & ebony board.
The L1000 has one large humbucking pickup & passive electronics. Often referred to as Leo Fender's attempt at the ultimate P-Bass. Tonally the electronics offer great flexibility. The humbucker offers massive output. 1 volume and separate bass and treble dials. The switch offers, single-coil mode / humbucking / The last position is often referred to as bass boost mode, series w/ bass boost. It actually has series wiring with a cap that sucks some of the treble out (increased output + decreased treble = bass boost) Bullet truss rod at the headstock end. Skunk stripe on the back of the neck.
There are numerous small dings and scuffs in the body finish. The neck and headstock are relatively clean. The original frets have plenty of life left in them and the truss rod has plenty of movement in it. Fully set up in our workshop. Nut width 43.3 mm. Deth at 1st fret 19.3 mm. Weight: 8 lbs 13.5 oz / 4.01 kg.
