1981 Fender Precision Special, Candy Apple Red finish with a matching headstock. It's in good condition and all original including the case. There are a few small chips and dings in the finish, mainly around the edges of the body and headstock. The neck is clean and straight and the frets are in good condition with plenty of life left in them. All hardware and electronics are in fine working order. The truss rod is fully functioning. It has a great medium/low action having been set up in our workshop with a set of round-wound D'addario strings. Serial E017219. Weight 10lbs 7.5oz. Nut width 41.5mm. Depth at 1st fret 20.3 mm.
This was Fender's first active bass with a specially developed active circuit (preamp, bass & treble), but it can also be used in passive mode with a passive tone control. Made for only a brief period of time between 1980 & 1982, these awesome basses are becoming increasingly difficult to find & are a definite must-have for any serious collector or player.
