1977 Fender Precision Bass in excellent + condition. Olympic White finish black guard and a Rosewood fingerboard. There are very signs of play wear and no significant scuffs or dings in the finish. The body finish does show some signs of being being kept on a stand as there is some discolouration to the bottom edge. The back of the neck and headstock are near mint. It's all original with the exception of the metal pickup cover, tone capacitor and the solder on the pots. Also the neck pocket has been shaved to remove the finish and a very small amount of wood. Above all this bass plays and sounds great, it has a warm tone with plenty of thump.
This is an interesting transition Precision because it has the serial number on the neck plate, a neck thats stamped 10th week of '77 and a headstock logo that usually has the serial underneath.(in this case it doesn't and there are no signs that a serial number was ever under the Fender logo on the headstock) It's been fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of round wound strings. It has a great playing action. Serial:704439. Weight:9 lbs 15.5 oz. Nut width: 41.85 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 22 mm. The pots date to the 25th week of 76. The neck stamp reads 0101 1072. This is a great bass, don't miss out.
