1976 Gibson Thunderbird in excellent + condition. Original natural finish with very few marks. Serial number: 00244059. No headstock break or repair. Aside from changed knobs and an extra strap button it's all original and complete including the case and metal covers.
The bass has through-neck construction with a reverse body shape. One-piece Mahogany centrepiece; Mahogany wings. Rosewood fretboard, laminated pickguard, 2 humbucking pickups, 34 & 3-8 inch scale length. Modelled directly from the 1963 Thunderbird. New additions in 76 were the 3 point bridge and the Red, White & Blue insignia with 76 written underneath. Original pickups, pots and hardware. This is a very well looked after bass with only a few very small signs of wear. The frets are very clean. Either side of the nut you will see surface cracks in the lacquer. These are not cracks in the wood. All-round superb bass.
It's been fully set up in our workshop with very low action. It has a big thumping sound. The visible pot dates read 137-7636 (36th week of 1976). Weight 9 lbs 3.5 oz. Nut width: 38.25 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 20.15 mm. 3-month warranty included
