1969 Fender Jazz in Sunburst in very good condition, Sunburst finish with a Tortoise guard, a beautiful maple neck with a lovely grain and a dark Rosewood fingerboard with pearl blocks & binding. All original & complete with the exception of some reheated solder on the pots. All the pots date to the 42nd week of 66. The pickups date to 69. The neck is stamped Aug 66 A. The decal is correct from 69 (in 66 the Fender decal would have still been Gold) and there is no sign of any lacquer re-spray on the neck so this is either a neck that was left over from 66 or the stamp is wrong.
This bass is a great player with a superb tone. There are a few Scuffs and scrapes to the finish, mainly around the edge of the body. The red in the sunburst on the front has faded slightly particularly around the upper horn. The finish on the back of the body remains vibrant. The neck and headstock are very clean and the frets are in great shape. All electronics and hardware are in good working order.
The serial number is 263359. This bass is clean overall, although there are a few chips and dings around the edges of the body and headstock. There's a small amount of buckle rash but nothing major. The back of the neck is in excellent shape with very little wear. The frets are also in great shape. The bass is set up nice and low with a smooth action and a fresh set of Rotosound strings. It has a great sound with a warm tone and plenty of growl. This is a great bass to play and balances nicely weighing 8 lbs 14 oz. The truss rod works as it should without issue. The nut width is 38 mm. Depth at 1st fret 21.5mm.
