1966 Fender Precision Bass in very good condition. It has a lovely sunburst finish over an Alder body and a tortoise shell guard. It has a wide and slim C profile maple neck with a beautiful dark rosewood fingerboard which has a 7.25" radius and pearl dots. The mute sponge had deteriorated so we replaced it. Otherwise original including the case and metal covers. Supplied with 3-months warranty and 7-day returns policy.
The body finish has a fair amount of play wear and battle scars which are mainly around the edges of the body but also a patch of wear on the front and some light buckle rash on the back. The finish on the back of the neck has mild play-wear leaving it smooth in the hand. There is also some light lacquer checking in the finish. The original frets are in good shape with plenty of life left in them having been dressed in the workshop. Amazing player with an incredible neck.
This bass has been fully set up in our workshop with a set of D'Addario round-wound strings and really great action. The neck dates to Aug 1966. Both pots date to the 18th week of 66. The pickup has original winds, both date to October 66. Serial number:160545, weight: 8 lbs 13.5 oz. Nut width: 44 mm, depth at 1st fret 21.5 mm.
