1966 Fender Precision Bass in excellent condition. Sunburst finish, Tortoise guard and a rosewood fingerboard. This is one of the cleanest mid-'60s Precision I have had in stock and an absolute joy to play. It's an amazing player with an incredible neck. The body has a few small patches of wear mainly around the edges and some light lacquer checking but is remarkably clean for a bass of this age and the Sunburst is still very vibrant. The finish on the back of the neck has worn from frets 3-7 but is overall very clean as is the headstock. There's very little wear to the frets, the hardware is all clean and the truss rod is fully functioning with no issues. Overall this bass is in fantastic condition.
It's been fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of round-wound strings and has a straight neck and a great action. Serial:121751. The neck stamp reads FEB 66 C. Both pots are dated to 1966, only one shows the week of manufacture as the other is covered in solder. The visible pot date in full is 6607 (7th week of 66) The solder is untouched on the pots and pickups. Only one half of the pickup has a visible date as the other is covered in sponge which has gone hard and I didn't want to disturb it. The visible pickup date appears to read 3-16-66 (March 16th 1966). Nut width: 44mm. Depth at 1st fret: 21.25 mm. Weight: 8lbs 4oz.
