1966 Fender Precision Bass with an Olympic White finish over an Alder body. It has a wide and slim C profile Maple neck with a beautiful dark Rosewood fingerboard which has a 7.25" radius and pearl dots. The control knobs and metal pickup cover are newer replacements. Otherwise original and complete including the case. Weighing 9lbs 6oz. Serial number:171360.
This bass has plenty of mojo, having clearly been played and no doubt loved over many years and it plays and sounds great. It has a straight neck and the frets have plenty of life left in them. The body finish has a number of bumps and scrapes along with lacquer checking throughout. The finish on the back of the neck has light play-wear leaving a smooth and comfortable neck. The headstock has a couple of chips in the wood on the top edge. The pickguard is fully intact with no cracks. The neck pocket has some rather unfortunate God bothering going on where someone has inscribed, amongst other things, "Jesus is Lord" in marker pen!
This bass has been fully set up in our workshop with a set of Rotosound nickel round-wound strings. The neck stamp read OCT 1966 C. The pots date to mid 66. The pickups have original winds and both date to the 2nd Sept 66. Nut width:43.3mm Depth at 1st fret: 21.3mm.
