1966 Fender Jazz bass, Sunburst finish in very good + condition. Sunburst finish, Tortoiseshell guard, Rosewood fretboard with binding and block inlays. The neck pickup has been rewound to original spec by Lee Lavarack of Toltec Guitars in Leeds. Otherwise all original including the case. Supplied with 3-months warranty and a 7-day returns policy.
The Sunburst finish is in great condition and still very vibrant, there are fairly common signs of age and play-wear including small scuffs and dings, mainly around the edges. There is also a small patch of buckle rash on the back and light lacquer checking throughout. There is also an extra hole in the tip of the lower horn, presumably from someone moving the strap button. The neck has light play-wear and the headstock has light lacquer checking and some tiny scuffs around the edges. All hardware and electronics are in good working order including the truss rod. The frets are in great shape with very little wear and the neck is straight.
This bass is a great player with a superb even sound right across the fretboard. The neck is stamped Sep 66 A. The volume pots date to the 31st week of 1966, the tone pot dates to the 17th week of 66. The pickups have hand written dates (Oct & Nov '66) Fully set up by my technician with a great action and strung with a set of D'Addario 45-105 strings. Serial number: 192110. Weight: 9 lbs. Nut width: 37.8 mm. Depth at 1st fret 21.8 mm.
