Early 1959 Fender Precision Bass in very good condition. Sunburst finish, Gold anodized guard and a maple fingerboard. All original aside from what looks like a new Switchcraft jack socket and the new tweed case.
This bass is absolutely fantastic. It's an amazing player with an incredible neck. The body has a few patches of wear around the edges with some small dings and scuffs on the back and light lacquer checking. The Sunburst is still very vibrant. The neck finish has medium wear and is very smooth in the hand. There's a little wear to the frets but nothing that affects playability, my guess is that it's been strung with flat wound strings for most of its life. The hardware is in good condition and the truss rod is fully functioning with no issues. Overall this bass is in fantastic condition.
It's been fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of D'addario Chrome flat wound strings, it has a straight neck and a great action. Serial 36185. The pencil date in the pickup cavity is 3/58 and the neck date is 4/59. Both pots date to the 47th week of 58. Nut width: 44.2mm. Depth at 1st fret: 20.7 mm.
