1956 Gibson Les Paul TV Special in very good condition. Made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial # 6-5155, limed mahogany finish, mahogany body and neck, rosewood fingerboard, brown Alligator case and hang tags. It has the original bonnet knobs, 2 powerful P-90 pickups and the original wiring is complete and intact including the much-loved "bumblebee" capacitors. The pots all date to the 42nd week of 55. Supplied with 3 months warranty and a 14-day returns policy.
The body finish has faded slightly but shows very little in the way of wear with only the smallest of dings. The soft V profile neck has a little play-wear through the finish along its edges but is overall in great shape. The headstock is also in great shape with only a few light dings and scuffs. Everything remains structurally sound with no breaks or repairs.
Professionally re-fretted with no disturbance to the fingerboard. The original nut seems to have been retained. Previously fitted with a Bigsby which is included in the sale should you wish to reinstall it. Holes remain in the body front and bottom edge from the Bigsby. New aged nickel wrap-around bridge and new Grover tuners. The headstock holes have been plugged.
This guitar has been set up in our workshop with a fresh set of D'Addario 10s and a low action. Nut width: 43 mm. Serial: 6 5155. Weight: 8 lbs 2.5 oz.
