1952 Fender Precision bass, original Blonde finish in good condition, Maple neck and fingerboard. The single-ply Bakelite pickguard is in great shape and fully intact with no cracks. All original aside from the bridge cover and reissue case. Weight:9 lbs 1 oz / 4.11 kg. Nut width: 43.7 mm. Depth at the 1st fret: 23.9 mm. Pickup DC resistance: 6.34k.
The Ash body is very resonant and the neck plays like a dream with a comfortable medium-chunky soft V profile. The original single-coil pickup delivers a warm, punchy, and rounded sound which delivers a rich bottom end.
There is lacquer checking throughout the body finish, a few small dings and scuffs as well as some buckle rash on the back but nothing major considering its age. The frets are in excellent condition with very little wear and have been cleaned and dressed in our workshop. The fretboard itself is very clean with only light wear. The back of the neck and headstock exhibit wear and tear but surface only.
Fully set up with a set of flat-wound strings. It has a straight neck and the truss rod is fully operational in both directions. The body dates 9-4-52, neck 9-15-52. Both have the D stamp in the wood and the initials TG - standing for Tadeo Gomez - Tadeo Gomez is famous amongst players and collectors for the high quality of his work and his habit of signing his name or initials on the guitars he helped to craft. The volume pot dates to the 33rd week of '52. The tone pot date is mostly covered in solder but you just about make out the digit 1 which would mean it was manufactured in '51.
