1965 Gibson EB3, cherry red. It's in fair condition. There's plenty of wear and tear, including scuffs, dings and small chips as well as buckle rash on the back of the body. This bass was previously fitted with an extra switch. The holes for the switch have both been filled and oversprayed. (The switch was located just below the right corner of the bridge - See pictures) The Cherry finish is still very vibrant and has some light lacquer checking.
Despite the wear, this is a fantastic bass with a great low action, allowing for smooth playability up and down the neck. The frets are in excellent condition, the neck is straight with no issues and the truss rod has plenty of room to move. All electronics and hardware are in good working order.
It's been fully set up in our workshop with set of flat wound strings and the action is set nice and low. It has a big thumping sound. Jack Bruce, eat your heart out. The pots appear to be original but the dates are not visible. Serial number:339580. Weight:7lbs 5oz / 3.32kg. Nut width: 43.5 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 23mm.
