Early 1964 Fender Precision Bass in very good condition. It has a gorgeous Fiesta Red finish over an Alder body. It has a wide and slim C-profile maple neck with a beautifully figured dark rosewood fingerboard which has a 7.25" radius and clay dots. All original and complete with undisturbed solder throughout. Original white case included.
The body finish has a number of small scuffs and dings, mainly around the edges as well as some buckle rash on the back. The finish on the back of the neck has a few small spots of wear but is overall in excellent condition. The headstock has a few small scuffs which are mainly along the top edge. The original frets are in great condition with plenty of life left in them and have ben cleaned and polished in our workshop. An amazing player with an incredible neck.
This bass has been fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of La Bella Deep Talking flats. The neck dates to Jan 1964. The solder is unbroken on both the pickups and pots. Both pots date to 64 with only the tone pot displaying the full date of the 3rd week of 65. (the volume pot has solder over the week) The pickups have black bobbins and original winds. Serial number:L22740, weight: 8 lbs 10.5 oz / 3.92 kg. Nut width: 44.3 mm, depth at 1st fret 20.5 mm. Pickup DC resistance: 10.82 K.
