2006 Hofner 50th Anniversary Ltd Edition 500/1 Cavern Bass in near mint condition. (it would be listed as mint if it weren't for some very minor oxidisation to one corner of each pickup and the pickguard mounting bracket)
It comes with the original case along with case candy, including a poster and the original packing box. This rare bass is obviously not in production anymore, a real collectors bass having been kept in its case from day one.
Only 100 of these basses were produced, 50 for the US market and 50 for the UK. This one was purchased in the US back in 2006 and is numbered 11/50. This model was heard on the 1961-1963 Beatle recordings. It is known as the Cavern bass due to the fact that it was the bass Paul by played during the early days at the Cavern Club.
It has a hand-carved, not laminated, solid spruce top and a rare one-piece maple back. There are two diamond Höfner pickups placed together at the base of the neck, resulting in a deep, upright-bass sound.
