1979 Rickenbacker 4001 with a Mapleglo finish in good condition. All original and complete with the exception of the missing pickup cover and the case. Serial number: SC1679. (Mar 1979) This Rickenbacker plays & sounds great - an all-round lovely bass.
The body has a couple of small patches of buckle rash and a few small dings & scuffs around the edges, but overall it's in good condition. The neck is clean and free from wear. The headstock has a few scuffs & dings around the edges as well as a small patch of wear on the back. The fretboard is very clean and the original frets have plenty of life left in them.|
Fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of strings and a great playing action. The truss rods work as they should. The string mute foam has gone hard and will need replacing. All electronics and hardware are in good working order with no issues. Only 2 of the pots have (partially) visible dates ( mid '78). Weight 9 lbs 1 oz / 4.11 kg. Nut width: 42mm. Depth at 1st fret: 23.4mm.
