Beautiful 1973 Rickenbacker 4001, Fireglo finish with checkered Binding in extremely good condition. All original and complete other than the case.
The Fireglo finish is still very vibrant and deep in colour. It has checkered binding on the body, white binding on the neck & large pearl inlays. The toaster & lead pickups sound fantastic with strong output. The wavy Grover tuners are clean and fully functioning. The neck is clean and straight with only one or two small dings/scuffs on the back, the frets are in great shape with minimal wear. The binding has mellowed to a creamy Yellow and is all intact. A few minor scuffs to the body but nothing major. The headstock has a few scuffs around the top edge.
This is one very fine and rare bass, it's also great fun to play. It has that killer Rick tone as soon as you start playing. All hardware and electronics are in fine working order. The truss rods are fully functioning and the action has been set nice and low in our workshop with a set of round-wound strings. Serial MD 1205. (April 1973) The pot dates are a mixture of 1st and 7th week of 73. Weight 9lbs 0.5oz. Nut width 42 mm. Depth at 1st fret 23 mm.
