1978 Musicman Stingray in good condition. Natural finish, black pickguard, maple neck & fretboard. It is equipped with a 2-band EQ and through-body stringing. It comes in a new Gator flight case.
There are the usual small scuffs and dings, lacquer checking, and some more extensive finish wear along the bottom edge of the body. The fretboard is clean whilst the back of the neck has a few small dings and some play wear through the finish. There are also some dings around the edges of the headstock and some minor wear to the finish around the tuner posts. The neck is straight and plays smoothly and the truss rod works as intended with plenty of room to move. The frets are in good condition and have been cleaned and polished in our workshop. This is an all-round excellent bass, the sound is warm and punchy. The electronics are in great condition but some of the wiring has been reworked over the years - the output jack was replaced with a replacement switch craft jack. The Pickguard looks to be non-original as it looks too new. The mute pads have been replaced.
It's been fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of Ernie Ball round-wound strings and has a great action allowing for superb playability up and down the neck. The serial number is: B008123. Weight: 10 lbs 6.5 oz / 4.72 kg. The neck pocket and neck heel stamps are both illegible. All 3 pots date to mid-late '78. Nut Width: 42.5 mm. Depth at 1st fret 20.3mm.
