1979 Gibson ES-335 TD, Wine Red finish in excellent condition. This late '70s model has a coil tap switch. Serial:70759050. All original with the exception of the case ( The case is a '70s Gibson bass case) This guitar has been fully checked over & set up in our workshop and is an all-round excellent sounding and playing guitar. Set up with a low action allowing for very smooth movement around the fretboard. It has a big rich tone both plugged in and acoustically. Nut width: 42.85 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 19.4mm. Weight: 8lbs.
The finish is in great shape with only a few very small scuffs/dings. The frets are in great shape and all hardware & electronics are in excellent working order. The binding has yellowed but is all intact. The back has some disturbance in the finish about 1/3 up from the heel, most likely from one of those old guitar stands with rubber tubing, otherwise very clean with only light wear. The headstock is clean with only a few very small scuffs around the edges. There is lacquer crazing along one of the headstock seams. There are no breaks or repairs. Everything remains structurally sound.
The ES335 is a Semi-Hollow electric guitar that has a Maple front back & sides, double cutaway arched Maple top with f-holes, layered Black pickguard, Trapeze tailpiece, Rosewood fretboard with block inlays, 2 covered pickups; 2 volume, 2 tone controls with 3 position switch. Black headstock faceplate with pearl crown logo & 3 per side tuners. Late '70s models have a coil tap switch.
