Early 1964 Fender Precision Bass with a Fiesta Red refinish in excellent condition. Being early '64 it still retains the Spaghetti logo and clay dots. The serial number is 94250, which indicates 1963 but all other parts date to 64. I suspect the neck may have been over-sprayed at some point, it's certainly been wet-sanded to leave a very smooth almost satin finish. It's an amazing player with an incredible neck. It's been refretted with period correct size fret wire. It's missing the metal covers and comes in a non-original case.
The body finish has very little playwear. The colour has more pink in it than an original Fiesta Red. The finish on the back of the neck has plenty of wear as does the headstock which has a fair few scuffs, dings and patches of wear.
It's been fully set up in our workshop and is strung with flat-wound strings. It has a straight neck and great action. The neck is stamped Jun 64 C. The body has the correct nail holes and tooling marks present, indicating the body is original. Both pots date to '64 with only one showing the week ( 26th week of '64). Both pickups have black bobbins and original winds. Nut width: 43.8 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 19.6 mm. Weight: 8 lbs 12.5 oz / 3.98 kg.
