1979 Gibson RD Artist Bass in excellent condition. Natural finish, maple fretboard, serial 70819063. All original except the case (modern Gibson case) and 2 of the control knobs. Original Moog circuitry. Fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of nickel Rotosound round-wound strings. It has a very slim nut width, measuring only 40mm. Depth at 1st fret is 21.25mm. The weight is 11lbs 7.5oz. This bass guitar was made at the Kalamazoo Plant, MI, USA.
This is one of the cleanest RD Artist basses we've had in stock. There are only a few very small scuffs/dings mainly around the edges of the body and a very small patch of buckle rash on the back. The neck and fretboard are very clean. The neck is straight and the action is nice and low. The frets are in great shape having been dressed in our workshop and the truss rod is fully functioning. The headstock has no cracks/repairs and only only minimal signs of wear. This is a superb bass to play with a great range of tones.
