1977 Gibson RD Artist, Natural

1977 Gibson RD Artist Bass in good condition. Natural finish, maple fretboard, serial 72807075. Aside from the battery cover this bass is all original including the case. (the case handle is now a zip tie) Original Moog circuitry. Fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of nickel Rotosound round-wound strings. Nut width 40 mm / depth at 1st fret 20.8 mm. The weight is 11 lbs 4.5 oz / 5.11 kg. This bass guitar was made at the Kalamazoo Plant, MI, USA.

There are a fair few small scuffs, dings and patches of wear to the body, mainly around the edges of the body and a patch of buckle rash on the back. The back of the neck is very clean but the fretboard has some wear. The neck is straight, the action is low, and the frets are in good condition having been cleaned and dressed in our workshop. The headstock shows no cracks or repairs but does have some signs of wear. Fantastic bass with a wide range of tones.

Maple set neck and body, custom-designed active electronics with built-in compression/expansion, bright and neutral modes. 3-way pickup selector. 34 1/2 inch scale. Pearloid dot inlays and headstock motif. This bass is active with no passive mode. Electronics designed by Moog. Gibson humbucker pickups.
