1968 Gibson Thunderbird IV in exceptionally good condition. Original Sunburst finish over a Honduras mahogany body with very few marks. Serial number: 940753. No headstock break or repair. Aside from one retaining bolt on the bridge this bass is all original and complete including the case and metal covers.
The non-reverse Thunderbird IV bass has a Honduras mahogany neck and body with set-neck construction and a reverse body shape. 20 fret Rosewood fretboard, laminated pickguard, 2 humbucking pickups, 34 & 3-8 inch scale length.
This is a very well looked after bass with only a few very small scuffs and dings, mainly around the edges of the body. It has a the typical small cracks around a couple of the screw holes in the pickguard. The frets are very clean with plenty of life left in them. All-round superb bass.
It's been fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of GHS Boomers. It has a big thumping sound and an iconic rock n roll look. The visible pot dates read 137-654? (CTS late 1965) and 134-6601 ( Centralab 1st week of 66) Weight: 9 lbs 2.5 oz / 4.15 kg. Nut width: 38.8 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 21.3 mm. Supplied with 3-month warranty and 14-approval period.
