1964 Gibson EB0 bass guitar in fair condition with quite a few patches of wear & tear. This is certainly a players grade bass. The case is not original, is pretty beat up and a couple of latches are broken but will protect the bass in transit. It has a great action allowing for smooth playability up and down the neck. The frets show a little wear but playability isn't affected and they have been cleaned and polished in our workshop. The neck is straight with no issues and the truss rod has plenty of room to move. It appears that at some time an extra control knob and or switch were added as there are 2 small holes that have since been filled in and touched up. One filled in hole is a lot smaller than the other so my guess this was for some kind of switch. There's also a hole in the back of the upper horn where someone must have re-positioned the strap button. The bridge has been modified by someone filing slots into the (normally smooth) saddle. It's not been done very well as when the strings are placed into the slots, they are out of position in relation to one another and too far over to the E side. I have simply re-strung the bass as intended by running the string in the correct position over the smooth hump in the bridge.
It's been fully set up in our workshop with a great action. It has a big thumping sound. The pots look to be original but it's difficult to read the manufacturer date codes. Serial number:153662. Weight:7 lbs 12.5 oz. Nut width: 43.25 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 21.45 mm.
