1964 Fender Jazz Bass, Blonde

1964 Fender Jazz Bass with a custom colour Blonde finish and a white/mint green guard. It has a Rosewood fingerboard with clay dots. Supplied in a Fender reissue tweed case. The pots and nut have been replaced. The replacement pots are modern CTS 250K (correct spec). The nut appears to be bone. When the nut is replaced, it's often as the result of a re-fret. In this instance, I'm not convinced that is the case. Both myself and my technician have scrutinised the frets (for more time than is probably healthy) as well as the fingerboard around the frets and don't see the usual disturbance of wood. In addition to the noted changes, the finger rest and metal bridge/neck pickup covers are missing and a different pickguard appears to have been on the bass at some point as there are 2 extra screw holes (since filled) under the guard.

The body finish exhibits light-medium play wear and a few small dings/scuffs, mainly around the edges of the body. and some buckle rash on the back. The back of the neck has, again, light-medium playwear with a few patches of lacquer having worn away. The same can be said of the headstock. The frets are in great shape having been cleaned and dressed in our workshop.

This bass is a joy to play with a superb even sound right across the fretboard, the neck is slim at the nut, and there's tons of room in the truss rod. It's been fully set up with a fresh set of Rotosound Nickel round wound strings and sounds amazing.  Weight 9 lbs. Serial: L30787. The end of the neck is stamped, Dec 63A. Nut Width: 38.15 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 20.6 mm. 3-month warranty included.
