Early 1963 Fender Jazzmaster with a Sunburst finish in exceptionally good condition. The neck pickup was rewound by renowned luthier Norio Imai in New York. Otherwise all original and complete including the brown case. It has a beautiful tortoiseshell pickguard and a rosewood fingerboard. The Jazzmaster was Launched in mid 1958 as the top of the range Fender guitar, and featured Fender’s first neck with a rosewood fretboard. It's an incredible Rock’n’Roll and Surf guitar and was a firm favourite of 90s bands like Nirvana, Sonic Youth and My Bloody Valentine.
There is very little in the way of wear to this guitar aside from a couple of scratches in the back and some very minor scuffs around the edges. The neck and headstock are immaculate with a beautiful figured grain. The frets are in excellent condition having ben cleaned and dressed in our workshop. The beautiful pickguard is fully intact with no cracks and only minot shrinkage.
This guitar has been set up in our workshop with a fresh set of D'Addario 10 gauge strings and a medium-low action. The neck is stamped DEC 62 B. The body has a pencil date of 3/63. The Serial is 92998. The tone pot is dated 18th week of 62, the volume pot 1st week of 61. Weight 7lbs 11.5oz. Nut width: 42 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 20.5 mm. Depth at 12th fret 25.4 mm. 3-month warranty included.
