1978-80 Fender Precision bass in very good condition. I have dated the bass 78-80 because whilst the serial number dates 1978, the pots date to 1979 and the pickups to 1980. This is common with Fender instruments from 78 through to about 1982.
There are minor scuffs in the finish, mainly around the edges of the body but no serious dings or wear. The neck and headstock are fairly clean with just a few minor scuffs & dings. The frets are in great condition with minimal signs of wear. The pickups appear to have been rewound and the Fender case is from the 90s but other than that the bass is origonal.
This bass has been set up in our workshop with great action and a set Rotosound round-wound strings. Only one pot has a visible date of the 24th week of 1979. The pickups as previously mentioned date to 1980. The neck date is not vivisble. Serial number: S897413. Weight: 12 lbs. Nut width: 42.1 mm, depth at 1st fret 21.8 mm. Pickup DC resistance: 10.82 k.
