1974 Fender Precision Bass in very good condition with a Sunburst finish and black pickguard. It has a maple neck and a rosewood fingerboard. It's missing the metal pickup cover and has been re-fretted with medium-jumbo fret-wire. We also removed and added ground wire from the harness so some of the solder has been re-heated. Otherwise all original and complete. The case logo has been replaced so it's difficult to date it. (It's definitely Fender) Supplied with a 3-month warranty and a 14-day returns policy.
Great straight neck and clean frets with very little wear. It has a warm tone with plenty of growl. All electronics and hardware are in good working order. The body and headstock have a few small scuffs and dings, mainly around the edges. The neck is in excellent condition with very little wear. It's nice and light weighing only 8 lbs 4 oz / 3.74 kg.
Fully set up in our workshop with a fresh set of Bass Centre, Elite Stadium 45-105 round-wound strings. It has a low action allowing great playability. Serial: 548001. The volume pot is dated to the 5th week of '74. The date on the tone pot is partially obscured by solder, only 05 is visible for the 5th week( the assumption being it's the same as the volume pot) One half of the pickup has a black bobbin, and the other half has a much lighter bobbin and is dated to 1974. Both have original windings. (It is not uncommon to see leftover black fiber-board used for early-mid '70s Fender pickups) Nut width: 40.8 mm. Depth at the 1st fret: 21.2 mm.
