1972 Fender Mustang Bass in very good condition, Competition Orange finish, maple neck with a Rosewood fingerboard. We've replaced the pickguard as it had shrunk and warped causing some of the screw holes to crack. The original guard can still be used if desired and is included. It comes in a non-original case and the finger rest and mutes are missing. Otherwise, it's original and complete. A 3-month warranty and a 14-day returns policy are included.
It has a great playing straight neck and the frets are in good condition. The body finish has a few small scuffs and dings as well as some marks in the finish left from previously having a Fender bodyguard fitted. The neck and headstock are almost entirely free of wear except for a few very small scuffs along the top edge of the headstock. Everything remains structurally sound with no breaks or repairs. The truss rod works correctly without issue. All electronics work and sound great.
Fully set up in our workshop with medium-low action and as set of flat-wound strings. The pot's date to the 39th week of 1972 and the neck stamp reads July 72. The pickups are also dated 72. Serial: 343893. Weight 7lbs 13.5oz / 3.56 kg. Nut width: 41mm. Depth at 1st fret:22.2mm.
