1971 Fender Jazz bass in fair/good condition. Sunburst finish, rosewood fingerboard, Tortoiseshell guard. Fairly light, weighing 8 lbs 12.5 oz / 3.99 kg. It's been re-fretted and has a new nut. Also, the solder joints have been re-flowed and the hot wire from the bridge pickup is not original. The finger rest and metal covers are missing. Everything else is original and correct including the case. Supplied with a 3-month warranty and a 14-day returns policy
The finish on the body has plenty of wear with numerous small dings & scuffs and some buckle rash. The headstock also has scuffs and dings, mainly around the edges. The back of the neck is relatively clean. The frets are clean and in great shape with lots of life left in them. Everything remains structurally sound with no breaks or repairs.
This bass is a joy to play with a superb even sound right across the fretboard, it has a straight neck which is very slim at the nut, and the truss rod works correctly. It's been fully set up with a fresh set of nickel Rotosound round-wound strings and sounds amazing. Weight 8 lbs 12.5 oz / 3.99 kg. Serial: 302142. The pickups have original windings and both date to 1971. The pots all date to the 16th week of 71. The neck date is not present. Nut Width: 38.1 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 22.6 mm.
