1963 Fender Precision Bass with a Sunburst relic refinish over an Alder body. It's been given a fairly heavy relic job. It has a wide and chunky C profile Maple neck with a beautiful dark Rosewood fingerboard which has a 7.25" radius and clay dots. The neck and headstock appear to have the original finish. The metal bridge cover is original, the pickup cover appears to be have been changed. It has original frets which are in great condition. This is a great playing and sounding bass. The output from the pickups is really strong and the sound is rich and round. The previous owner etched his social security number into the serial plate and the back of the E string tuner.
This bass has been fully set up by my tech with a fresh set of D'Addario Chrome flat-wound strings. The neck date reads NOV 63 C. The pots date to the 50th week of 63. the pickups have Black bobbins and original winds. Serial number:L14878, weight: 8lbs 7.5oz. Neck dimensions, Nut width:43.5mm. Depth at 1st fret: 21.5mm.
