Early 1963 Fender Precision Bass in good condition with a Sunburst finish over an Alder body. It has a wide C profile Maple neck with a beautiful dark rosewood fingerboard, a 7.25" radius and clay dots. It weighs 8lbs 7.5oz / 3.84kg Serial: 96281. It's missing the metal covers. With the exception of some re-touched solder on one half of the pickup, it's all original including the case. It comes with a 3-month warranty and a 14-day returns policy.
This is a fantastic playing and sounding instrument, it has a straight neck and original frets which are in excellent condition having been dressed in our workshop. There are a number of small scuffs, dings and signs of playwear, mainly around the edges of the body. The back of the neck also has various patches of playwear throughout the finish. The headstock is relatively clean with only a few small scuffs around the edges.
This bass has been fully set up with a fresh set of D'Addario Chrome flat-wound strings. The neck date is January 63 C, and both pots date to the 52nd week of 62, It's difficult to read the body date as it is obscured by masking tape but it looks to me like it says 2/63. The pickups have Black bobbins and original winds. All-around fantastic bass. It's nice and light weighing 8 lbs 7.5oz / 3.79 kg. Nut width: 44.4 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 20.8 mm. Pickup DC resistance: 10.54k.
