1962 Fender Precision Bass, Lake Placid Blue refinish with a tortoise-shell guard and a rosewood veneer fingerboard. This is a body-only refinish. The neck has the original finish. Expertly re-fretted leaving no scars on the fingerboard and new nut fitted. Non-original vol/tone knobs and case. Otherwise original. It comes in a Fender reissue tolex hard case. The metal covers are missing. Supplied with 3-months warranty and 14-day returns policy.
The body finish is near mint having been refinished very recently. The back of the neck has wear through the finish leaving it very smooth and comfortable in the hand. The headstock has a few scuffs/dings around the edges. It has a straight neck and the frets are in great condition with plenty of life left in them. The pickguard has only minor shrinkage and no cracks.
This bass has been fully set up in our workshop with a set D'Addario flat-wound strings and really great action. There are 3 correct nail holes visible on the body. The end of the neck is stamped Aug 62 C. The body has a pencil date of '62 but the month is unreadable. Both pots date to 62. The pickups have black bobbins and original winds. Serial number:73692, weight: 8 lbs 9 oz / 3.89 kg. Nut width: 43.4 mm, depth at 1st fret 20 mm. Pickup DC resistance 10.6 k.
