1961 Fender "Stack Knob" Jazz Bass, Sunburst refinish in very good condition. Tortoiseshell guard, slab rosewood fretboard, "clay" dots, original case. It's been re-fretted with era correct small frets and has a new bone nut. Also one changed bridge screw. Everything else is original. It's a great player with a superb even sound right across the fretboard. Serial number: 68064. Weight: 8lbs 5.5oz / 3.79 kg. Nut width: 38.2 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 20.4 mm.
The Sunburst refinish is of the highest quality and at first glance the finish appears original. There's some very fine lacquer checking and some dings and scuffs, mainly around the edges. The neck and headstock also have play-wear. The finish on the neck and headstock remains original ( although worn). Everything remains structurally sound and all hardware and electronics are in good working order. The frets are in excellent condition.
The neck and body both have the pencil date 10/61. Both pickups have original winds and unbroken solder meaning they wear unsoldered at the pots ( which is evident). The pots date to the 8th week of '61.
Fully set in our workshop with a great action and a fresh set of Ernie Ball round-wound strings. It comes with a 3-month warranty and 14-day returns policy.
