1959 Fender Precision Bass in excellent + condition. 3-Tone Sunburst finish, maple fingerboard, anodized guard. All original and complete with untouched solder throughout and the original hard case, which is also in fantastic condition
This bass is a joy to play, and what an amazing tone it has! The finish is still very vibrant with very little fade, minimal nicks and dings and some lacquer checking. There is light buckle rash on the back. The back of the neck is extremely clean with just a few tiny dings. The fretboard is almost entirely free of wear. The frets are in excellent condition with plenty of life left in them. The headstock is in great shape with only a few tiny dings & scuffs around the the edge. There is light lacquer checking to the finish throughout.
Fully set up with a fresh set of D'Addario Chrome flats. The action is fantastic and set medium/low (around 2.2mm at the 12th) Only the tone pot has a visible date, which is 16th week of '59. The volume pot date is mostly covered in solder, although, 137 is visible and the last number is a 6. ( my guess is that it matches the tone pot) The pencil date in the pickup cavity is 5/59. The neck has no pencil date which is consistent for 1959. All-around fantastic bass. It's nice and light weighing 8 lbs 6 oz / 3.79 kg. Serial: 37302. Nut width: 43.7 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 20.8 mm. Pickup DC resistance: 11.15k.
