1955 Fender Precision bass in Excellent condition, 2-tone Sunburst, Maple fingerboard. Serial:10819. Weight: 8lbs 14.5oz / 4.03kg. All original and complete including the tweed case, leather strap, cable and dealer spec sheet.
It has a V-profile maple neck and maple fingerboard with clean frets which have plenty of life left in them. There are a few small nicks, dings and scuffs in the finish as well as lacquer checking but overall it's very clean. The back of the neck and fretboard have only very light playwear. The headstock has some light scuffs, mainly along the top edge but nothing major. All the hardware is clean and retains a nice shine. There are no breaks or repairs and everything remains structurally sound. It plays and sounds great with a nice low action. It has a woody, earthy, thumpy tone that makes it a pleasure to play.
It's been fully set up in our workshop with a set of flat-wound strings. It has a straight neck and the truss rod is fully operational in both directions. The pencil dates in the pickup cavity and on the end of the neck both read 11/55. The control harness soldering was signed off by Gloria on Dec 1st 1955 as is evident from the small piece of masking tape with her signature and date in the control cavity. Solder covers both pot dates. Nut width 44 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 24 mm. Pickup DC resistance 7.57 k.
