1965 L series Fender Jazz bass in excellent condition. It has a nitro Sunburst finish with a Tortoiseshell guard and rosewood fingerboard. All original and complete with untouched solder and supplied in the original hard case.
This is a fine example of a vintage Fender Jazz bass. The finish is still vibrant with little fade. There are a few small dings and scuffs in the body finish as well as some buckle rash on the back and a couple of areas along one edge where the finish has worn through. It has a fantastic neck with light play wear and a few small nicks. The headstock is very clean with just a few small scuffs, mainly along the top edge. The original frets are clean and in excellent condition with tons of life left.
This bass is a joy to play with a superb even sound right across the fretboard, it has a straight neck and there's tons of room in the truss rod. It's been fully set up in our workshop with an easy to play medium/low action and a set of D'addario round-wound strings. It weighs 9 lbs 3.5 oz / 4.18 kg. Serial:L72028. The neck date is DEC 64A, the pots all date to the 12th week of 65. The pickups have original windings. The sponge is stuck to the underneath of both so the dates are not visible. Nut Width: 38.2 mm. Depth at 1st fret: 20.5 mm. Pickup DC resistance: N, 7.9k / B, 7.82k.
