1966 Fender Jazz bass, Sunburst finish with an Ash body. It's been re-fretted and has a changed output jack & metal pickup cover, otherwise all original including the original case. The Sunburst finish is in great condition. This is a very rare transition period, dot & bound Rosewood neck Jazz Bass. It plays & sounds superb with a straight neck and smooth action after being set up by my tech.

Original Sunburst finish marked ES under the pick guard. ("Entered special" at the factory) Custom colour orders were often marked with this ES stamp but so too were some Sunbursts. The finish shows nice crazing/checking, which gives it plenty of mojo. This bass is a great player with a superb even sound right across the fretboard. It has a straight neck, the frets are in great condition. .

There's light play wear to the finish around the edges on the back the body. All hardware and electronics are in good working order. The frets are in great shape with very little wear. The neck is stamped MAR 66 A. The pots all date to 1966, the pickups have original winds and the pots harness is wired up with the correct cloth wires and untouched solder. Fully set up by my technician with a fresh set of Elites Stadium series stainless steel strings.
