1965 Epiphone Rivoli, Blonde finish as played by Chas Chandler of The Animals. The condition is excellent +. Tortoiseshell pickguard with silver Epiphone "E" logo. This bass was made in Kalamazoo, Michigan, serial:368283. This bass has been set up with flat wound strings.

This is a fantastic bass with a great low action allowing for smooth playability up and down the neck. It's been fully set up by my technician. It has the earlier nut width of 1.688 inches (soon after in 1965 this changed to a rather skinny 1.5 inches). Single-bound laminated maple top, back, and sides. One-piece mahogany neck, rosewood fretboard with 20 jumbo frets and inlaid Pearloid dot position markers and a short scale length of 30 1/2 inches.

The Rivoli Bass was Epiphone's first electric bass, It debuted in 1959, and it was the equivalent of Gibson's EB-2, a semi-hollow body archtop modeled after the Gibson ES-335.
